Our holiday season started with our Regional Youth Congress in early November. We had a couple hundred youth come for this memorable weekend in Recife. Pictured is our Saturday night crowd as they broke out in worship to the Lord. We had several receive the Holy Ghost. Sis. Walmer organized several activities during the day sessions including Bible studies, different sport competitions, activity games and leisure. We rented a beautiful campground on the outskirts of Recife which provided many wonderful memories for our youth. The Lord has given us a dynamic group of kids that love God and often seek the Lord. Pictured is one of our young men, Renan, praying with me for Luiz, a boy from the streets of Recife. A year or so ago he walked in off the thoroughfares of our city with hopes of getting something to eat or money for bread. His transition from the street life has been difficult and slow however, it has been rewarding to see God change this boy’s life. We also are thankful for our dear sisters who labored so faithfully in our kitchen during the congress. Sis. Grace, short and petite, needed to stand on a stool to see into the pots! Nevertheless, she did some superb cooking for our youngsters! We are proud to present to you our ABI graduating class of 2004. Our bible school now has a three-year course, giving basic leadership training for the first two years and a specialized course for ministry and pastoral studies in the third year. We are very hopeful of this year’s graduates as they venture into ministry. They are a talented group of people. Standing at my side is Bro. Valdir and his wife who are laboring in the city of São Lorenço and Várzea. Bro. Jason and his wife Ilka, as well as Bro. Erisvaldo, assist me in the church I pastor in Recife. These men often go to our surrounding churches to preach and encourage our local ministers. Pray with us for laborers for the vast harvest in this land! The holiday season was a very busy time for us. We celebrated Christmas with our church family. They are all very dear to us. We had a Christmas banquet and a New Year Watch Night service to usher in 2005. On January 30, we had our 5th Sunday Family Day at a recreation center close to the church. We had a special dinner and lots of recreation and games. We held a service in the afternoon. We also held a baptism where three precious ladies were baptized in Jesus name! Thank you for giving to MISSIONS!
